Chirk Castle is a National Trust property in which we use an unfurnished tower. Our story is that we are travelling in the area,and have sighted enemy cavalry
in the distance. Knowing of a Royalist force holding the castle, we have sought shelter there.
The Colonel is generous, but our fare is limited, although the staff of the castle and camp-followers provide some
hot food from the kitchen.
